Geez... these video adverts...

Has anyone else about had it with those GLEE/AMERICAN EXPRESS video ads here? They are longer than other video ads you have to sit through on LJ if you have a free account, and they drive me nuts!

I have an unpaid account, and when the video advertisements come on, I am able to click on the close (x) button to the far right of the video window, thus not having to watch anything.

Check to see if there is a button for you to click on. It's quite a ways right of the advert.

I had found in the past though that, even when you click the close X for the video, the sound continues on to the end of the ad and you can't really do anything until the audio spiel finishes.

I haven't checked trying to use the close X since I got my new computer though and my old machine was quite slow with regard to processor speed (it was 7 years old). So might work with the new equipment I recently purchased. I'll have to give it a try once more.

I hope it works. Mine goes away completely, which is nice, because I wouldn't tolerate it if it didn't, and I'm not about to buy a paid account, so I would ditch LJ which would be sad for everyone me.
