I had found in the past though that, even when you click the close X for the video, the sound continues on to the end of the ad and you can't really do anything until the audio spiel finishes.
I haven't checked trying to use the close X since I got my new computer though and my old machine was quite slow with regard to processor speed (it was 7 years old). So might work with the new equipment I recently purchased. I'll have to give it a try once more.
