That earthquake yesterday was scary!
Aug. 24th, 2011 12:15 pmIn my office in downtown Manhattan (right across the street from South Street Seaport), the building shook quite violently.
All personnel were evacuated by the emergency stairs and had to wait outside (I guess I waited about 45 minutes or so outside the building once I and my co-workers had made it down the stairs from the 34th floor) until the FDNY inspected the structure's integrity.
Definitely an interesting afternoon in New York!

Date: 2011-08-24 05:05 pm (UTC)But now the East Coast has a hurricane in the offing for this weekend. 90 to 100 mph winds predicted for when it ultimately hits New York City itself. Somehow, with all the tall buildings in Manhattan, that just sounds like a recipe for real disaster.
