It's a crying shame cause, reading Burns synopsis of the screenplay plot, it does have possibilities. (Like that they are using a real-life Cold War incident as the basis.)

But Cruise isn't Napoleon Solo, no matter what.

I have no clue about the actor cast as Illya. Not familiar with him at all.

But of course the "powers-that-be" might not even keep the Burns screenplay either. Who the hell knows at this point?

Looked at the link to the original incident. This is ringing a bell of a scenario that was already in another movie. Can't think of it, almost want to say a Tom Clancy plot. Hmmm, can't think of it.

Can't repeat enough how much I agree with you about the casting. Ugh.
