MFU 30-Day Meme: Day 30
Day 30 – Anything UNCLE related: the U.N.C.L.E. organization itself
I'm a sucker for the kind of organization shown in MFU: smart, non-partisan, dedicated to overall good, and yet highly structured!
I like the very setup of U.N.C.L.E. with its sections sliding one into the other as the names imply:
Section 1: Policy and Operations
Section 2: Operations and Enforcement
Section 3: Enforcement and Intelligence
Section 4: Intelligence and Communications
Section 5: Communications and Security
Section 6: Security and Personnel
...with the last two sections coming up in support...
Section 7: Public Relations and Propaganda
Section 8: Deception and Camoflauge (alternately called "Research and Development"; either way the lab)
There is just something unique about it all.
The five Continental Chiefs with Waverly that "first among equals" (that is, Waverly as top dog and the other four as his immediate pack); Section II being the elite of the organization with all the other Sections basically in support of that core group: it's all so precisely orderly and yet rather independently utopian in many ways.
I don't want to go on and on here; so I'll simply summarize by saying I truly appreciate how creatively imagined was the concept of the U.N.C.L.E organization as a whole.
And so I've come to the end of the lollipop with regard to this meme. [sigh]
Do I get my badge now?
[makes with the puppy dog eyes]
(Okay, so I don't do that as well as Napoleon could, but I still hope it gets me my badge.)

When you come to the end of a lollipop,
To the end, to the end, of a lollipop,
When you come to the end of a lollipop,
Plop goes your heart!
Gilly Oh golly, Oh I love my lolly,
Down to the very last lick!
But when you are through with it, what can you do with it?
All you have left is the stick.
When you come to the end of a lollipop,
To the end, to the end, of a lollipop,
When you come to the end of a lollipop,
Plop goes your heart!
Do I get my badge now?

I get a big kick out of that too--even though any office I've been in, those overlapping areas of authority would have caused mayhem :D
You should demand your badge! I'm going to demand mine when the day comes ;)
