MFU 30-Day Meme: Day 29

Day 29 – Favorite cast member: Robert Vaughn

No surprise here.

I like RV's style of acting: his spot-on facial expressions, his bodily ease in various roles, and that utterly fantastic voice. (His classic good looks surely don't hurt either. [wink])

I also like that he has a sense of humor about himself and what he does, though I admit some of that has developed with age. He was a bit more intense about it all when younger.

He definitely has quirks. To name just a few: his utter fascination with Shakespeare's HAMLET, his kind of hero-worship of the Kennedys, his initial thoughts about possibly switching to a political career evidencing in oddities like having an personal office with decor to match the Oval Office in the home he lived in during the U.N.C.L.E. years, his many promiscuous liaisons before he settled down and got married. I also think that he had a tendency when younger to exaggerate certain stories from his past for effect.

Still, that he now openly says without a qualm that starring in MFU provided the best 4 years of his life always makes me smile. I just can't help but like the guy.

I didn't know he had an office decorated like the Oval Office! I like people with quirks.

You can't survive that kind of fame and the inevitable let-downs afterwards without developing a sense of humor, about it, I think they've both done so. RV certainly seems like a charmer when you listen to him now!

Ooh yes. I love the man, for all of the reasons you listed, and more. Don't forget the Smile! He has a smile unlike anyone else.
