Day 12 – Least favorite innocent: Christine Hobson (from THE TEST TUBE KILLERS AFFAIR)

Oh, where to begin with how much I hate this innocent. She's whiny as all get-out and stupid to boot. She meets Christopher Jones' character and immediately she loves (read "lusts after") and trusts him so blindly, she doesn't so much as blink when he puts a knife to her throat? Apparently her brain cells stopped functioning the second her libido kicked in.

She is willing to do anything and everything her less-than-charming nut-job of a suddenly-this-summer boyfriend says without so much as a second thought. She's hopeless and annoying in personality, and to boot the tonal quality of the fake Southern accent the actress uses here is like hearing the constant screech of nails on a chalkboard.

Oh man, is this innocent definitely my least fav of the series! I honestly wish at the end of the ep that Jones' little test tube killer would have turned his gun on her while she is moaning "I am gonna die!" in that car and shot her point-blank. It would have put us all out of our misery.

I have a niece who is doing exactly these things right at this very moment (and pregnant with the scums baby, to boot).

Her character is totally believable to me right now.

The same awful actress was abysmal in "The Deadly Smorgasbord Affair" as well.

The way they brought Christine to life bugged me because she was really annoying, but I thought it was sort of interesting that the innocent this time around fell for the Thrushie and followed him blindly instead of the other way around and having her fall for one of our boys as was the norm. (I'm sure that elmey will have a fourth season comment to insert here! *g*) Sadly, it was done in a rather hamfisted way.

Still, the boys weren't the ones who stopped Greg Martin from blowing the dam. If it weren't for Christine and her unfailing loyalty/love to him, thousands of people would have died.

All that aside, I would have left her to burn in the car too.

I didn't mind her so much in DEADLY SMORGASBORD. (I do like that ep as a whole I will admit.)

But here she is just grating on the nerves, no question.

Oh, I like "The Deadly Smorgasbord Affair" very much. Except for her.

Her accent is awful.

And she has ugly feet.

Okay, now I'm being petty.

TEST TUBE KILLERS from my viewpoint was just a showcase for Christopher Jones (who was the up-and-coming teen idol of the time). The guys seem rater peripheral in it.

I never even understand the point of that ep at all, since the plan to have Martin blow up a dam doesn't take any of the supposed unique talents he has honed as a "test-tube killer". It's just the same old/same old Thrush tactic.

All of that ep, despite a few interesting partner moments between our guys (like the one with the explosion-rigged TV) strikes me as rather odd with the writers seemingly writing everything to highlight Jones as the star. But that's a rant for another day. [chuckle]

Oh god I hate her too. She'll be my least favorite as well--I'll have to come up with more bad things to say about her :D I was actually shouting Die, Die at the TV when she was trapped in the car. And at the end, after her "boyfriend" almost killed hundreds of people, she's whining about whether or not he loved her. Napoleon was way too kind!

She's my least favorite as well. It could be me, but Test Tube has that Lifetime TV movie feel of a sheltered girl who lets some guy she barely knows ruin her life.

Let's not bring up the ending..................
