Day 28 – Episode you use to introduce people to the show: THE FIDDLESTICKS AFFAIR (Season 1) or for black-and-white phobes THE FOXES AND HOUNDS AFFAIR (Season 2)
Finally got a chance today to get back to this meme. Been nuts at work the past couple of days.
Anyhow, I would really, really love to use THE NEVER-NEVER AFFAIR to intro folks to the show, but it's honestly not a "usual" episode in that it is very contained to within the U.N.C.L.E. organization. So as a rule I go with FIDDLESTICKS because it has all the elements of a truly great MFU episode: good plot, snappy dialogue, the guys together on a mission, an innocent that makes you smile, and a Thrush villain who doesn't come off as a reject from a Three Stooges skit.
If the person I'm trying to get interested in the show is someone who really dislikes black-and-white video, then I'll go with FOXES AND HOUNDS for the same reasons, though the innocent here is somewhat more annoying. But then you have Vincent Price as the villain to compensate for that.
